Temp files

What kind of problem can the *.temp files give, if they are not deleted from the computer? I have seen in this forum that these files should be deleted. But don't know their harmful effects.

just take c windows temp and delete all the files in it and also take prefetch from run by typing it that are unwanted sections stored in you computer delete them to make your computer fast.

take run type prefetch then enter clear all the files in that..i meant delete it..

C:/windows / temp clear all files in that too..
